Jenny Craig Reviews

I joined Jenny Craig and lost 40 lbs, so it does work - before you get bored with the limited food selections, which is soon.

My counselor was nice at first but then if I missed an appt (because of a meeting at work - legitimate reason) told me how disappointed she was in me for not keeping my commitment and insisted I come in that Saturday to see her (and buy more food!)

If I cancelled an appointment (and it was always because of work, and didn't happen frequently), she called me relentlessly and made veiled threats like "You don't want me to come over there and beat you up, do you?" I was appalled.

Once I came to an appt and she made me wait a half hour, while she sat up in the window doing something on the computer, and she KNEW I was there because she said hello when I came in the door!

When I said I wanted to start eating meals on my own, she gave me all kinds of reasons not to (even though I had been doing it behind her back for weeks and still losing 1.5 - 2lbs a week!). It was then I realized the program was no longer serving ME - I was serving IT.

All she wanted to do was push me to buy food. She even insisted (not suggested - INSISTED) that I buy the portable tuna and chicken salad to eat every day on vacation where I made it clear I wanted to be able to have a regular meal on my own with my family a couple of days - she just wouldn't listen to me. Then more veiled threats.

I quit them and am now looking at other diets. I was told it's basically too hard for me to keep track of 1700 calories a day until I lose 3 more pounds and reach my halfway point (at which presumably I would be smart enough to begin eating meals on my own.) I kept wanting to scream "I'm fat, not stupid!"

I realize they're in business to sell food, and that's fine, but they don't have to be so insulting, harrassing, and blatant about it. I'll never go back.
