It is very easy to remain at your goal weight if you stay within bounds of Phase 2 of the diet. I feel Phase 3 is a little too liberal because it is easy to slip into old eating habits once you start to consume sugars again. My reason for being on the diet was because of a high cholesterol problem, the SBD was recommended by my doctor instead of the Atkins because it is a more enjoyable way to eat. The hardest part is staying in control on Phase 1. Considering the alternatives, it's an excellent diet.
