The points-based method of Weight Watchers is outdated and doesn’t go far enough to promote healthy lifestyle changes. For better success, stick with diets like Nutrisystem or Biggest Loser Club.

Weight Watchers Reviews

I, too, am a lifetime member with weight watchers. I went on the point system 10 years ago, gained most of my weight back and two years ago, went back to WW and lost all my weight again, using the point system. I lost a little too much weight.

However, after a year and a half, I've gained 70% of the weight back. I only had to lose 20 pounds, but my lifestyle has changed and even though I am retired, I watch my grandkids and I feel like I have less time to take care of me..

I did lose all my weight without exercising. I think this time, although I know WW works for me, it's harder to follow the point system, when you have to feed and take care of kids.

I think I'll try Nutrisystem for a month and see how that goes. .

I agree with the comments above that WW worked better when it was the exchange program. I HATE the points system. I tried it and it took forever only to lose a couple of pounds. I lost consistently when I did the exchange program. I was able to find the food exchanges on web.

I noticed too when I did the points system that I focused more on food and carbs. Since I found the exchanges of the foods I eat, I don't focus on food like I use to. I'm counting calories and exercising and the weight is coming off.

I was successful with losing weight on Weight Watchers. However, I was NOT successful at keeping it off. I agree with the other comments about how WW doesn't really teach you to eat healthy and that you spend a lot of time thinking about what to eat and when to eat next. I think it is a great diet for someone who have never tried to lose weight before, because by simply managing your portions to stay within your points range, you will lose weight. However, if you want to learn how to lead a healthy life, this is not the best option out there.
